Player registration
Date of Event : Fri Mar 23, 2018 9:10AM

This week has seen a team and a Club sanctioned by the tribunal for clearly not identifying a player registered in the WASTCA competition during season 2017-2018.

The fall out from these findings has the team in question eliminated from the grand final this week and now brought into question the integrity of its Club and a further investigation by the Board will continue post season.

With some 3000 players currently registered in the WASTCA MyCricket system, it is difficult with the current resources utilised to monitor all player movements in the competition and therefore does emphatically rely on the honesty and integrity of Clubs and teams that the information provided on individual players is accurate.

The current system of registration and permits does allows prompt decisions to be made to assist Clubs when they are struggling with player numbers and therefore, the Board does not accept the practice of nominating players only to be substituted for other ‘ghost’ players in order to fill teams as acceptable in any way shape or form.
